Accounts Payable and Receivable Analyst

The Accounts Payable and Receivable Analyst is responsible for the accurate, timely, and efficient management of all accounts payable and accounts receivable activities supporting a U.S.-based client. This role ensures strong financial controls, accurate recordkeeping, and excellent communication with both vendors and customers. Working remotely as part of an offshore team, the Analyst will ensure smooth daily operations in line with U.S. accounting standards and company policies.

Duties & Responsibilties

  • Process vendor invoices, verify accuracy, match to purchase orders, and obtain approvals in accordance with company policies.
  • Schedule and execute timely payments to vendors via ACH, wire transfer, or check runs.
  • Maintain accurate accounts payable records, including vendor details and payment histories.
  • Monitor and manage the accounts receivable ledger, ensuring timely invoicing of customers and accurate application of payments.
  • Perform regular AR follow-ups to reduce outstanding balances and support cash flow goals.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and customer accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Support monthly closing processes by preparing AP/AR schedules and reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with the client’s U.S. accounting team to ensure adherence to U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
  • Respond to vendor and customer inquiries professionally and promptly.
  • Assist with audits by providing requested documentation and supporting schedules.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all financial data and client information.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in accounts payable and/or accounts receivable roles.
  • Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP principles related to AP/AR processes.
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, Xero, or similar).
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Strong proficiency in English, written and verbal communication skills suitable for professional interaction with U.S.-based clients.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote, offshore environment.
  • Proactive problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • General knowledge of legislation and regulations affecting financial reporting.
  • Experience working with U.S. clients or in a multinational environment is an advantage.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
  • Registered CA(SA) or equivalent qualification, with 2–4 years post-articles experience.
  • Knowledge / Experience in IFRS and U.S. GAAP.
  • Familiarity with IASB accounting standards.
